Multipurpose Cleaner - Premium Detailing Products

One Cleaner - Multiple Detailing Jobs

Spray - Agitate - Rinse - Repeat

The days of purchasing multiple bottles of RTU APC are OVER. Lumin8 Liquids Multipurpose Cleaner is the ONLY product you need to detail your wheels and tires, remove bug guts, bird droppings, road grime, and more.

Lumin8 Liquids MPC is a cutting-edge multiple-surface cleaner. This slightly alkaline (pH ~10.25) soap-based cleaner is ready to use and contains mild, pH-neutral surfactants that remove dirt, oils, grease, and light stains.

We formulated this product for the vehicle, watercraft, or off-road toy owner who doesn’t want to carry 5 different APC’s that are ‘specifically formulated’ for specific detailing jobs. The truth is – most of these products are the EXACT SAME LIQUID – just with different colors or fragrances.

This is NOT a concentrated product, so there is no need to dilute it. It is perfect for bug guts & bird droppings, wheels & tires, engine bays, interior cleaning, pre-wash, salt removal, and even household usage.

Easy To Use

Our MPC is extremely simple to use. To make things simple and easy to understand, we've published multiple cleaning task instructions below.

Eco-Friendly Formula

This is a soap-based MPC. It's not acidic, but alkaline-based - which makes it fantastic for removing natural toxins, grease, and grime.

Cost Effective

With Lumin8 Liquids MPC, you don't need to waste money buying several RTU all-purpose cleaners. It's one product that nearly does it all.

Multiple Surface Safe

We've fine-tuned this product to make it effective and safe on several materials. It's safe for all coatings, films, waxes, and exterior substrates.

How to Use Lumin8 Detail Spray

Before You Start

Use on a cool surface and avoid working in direct sunlight. For delicate surfaces, test in a small hidden area first. Do not allow the cleaner to dry on the surface.

Recommended tools:

  • Microfiber towels
  • Soft detailing brush
  • Wheel brush
  • Tire brush
  • Garden hose or pressure washer
  • Nitrile gloves
  • Applicator or spray bottle

Wheel and Tire Cleaning Directions

  1. Rinse the wheels and tires thoroughly to remove loose dirt, brake dust, and grime.
  2. Spray Multiple Purpose Cleaner directly onto the tire sidewall, wheel face, and inner barrel.
  3. Let the cleaner dwell for 30–60 seconds.
  4. Scrub tires with a stiff tire brush until brown grime begins to lift.
  5. Use a soft wheel brush or detailing brush on the wheel face, lug nuts, and tight areas.
  6. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  7. Repeat if heavy brake dust or tire blooming remains.
  8. Dry with a clean microfiber towel.

Pro Tip

Clean one wheel at a time so the product does not dry on the surface.

Bug Guts Removal Directions

  1. Rinse the front bumper, grille, mirrors, windshield, and leading edges of the vehicle.
  2. Spray Multiple Purpose Cleaner directly onto bug-covered areas.
  3. Allow it to dwell for 1–2 minutes.
  4. Gently agitate with a microfiber towel or bug-safe wash mitt.
  5. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  6. Wash the area with car soap afterward for a clean finish.
  7. Dry with a microfiber towel.

Important

Do not aggressively scrub bug guts, especially on painted surfaces, PPF, or vinyl wraps. Let the cleaner soften the contamination first.

Road Salt Removal Directions

  1. Rinse the vehicle thoroughly, starting from the top and working down.
  2. Pay extra attention to lower panels, rocker panels, wheel wells, bumpers, and behind the wheels.
  3. Spray Multiple Purpose Cleaner onto salt-covered areas.
  4. Let it dwell for 1–2 minutes.
  5. Agitate with a wash mitt, soft brush, or microfiber towel.
  6. Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.
  7. Follow with a full wash using automotive soap.
  8. Dry the vehicle completely to help prevent water spots.

Pro Tip

Road salt can accelerate corrosion, so remove it as soon as possible after winter driving.

Engine Bay Cleaning

Directions

  1. Make sure the engine is cool before cleaning.
  2. Cover sensitive components such as exposed air intakes, alternator, aftermarket electronics, and open filters.
  3. Lightly rinse the engine bay or wipe away loose dirt by hand.
  4. Spray Multiple Purpose Cleaner onto plastic covers, hoses, painted metal, and dirty areas.
  5. Let the cleaner dwell for 30–60 seconds.
  6. Agitate with a soft detailing brush.
  7. Lightly rinse with low-pressure water or wipe clean with damp microfiber towels.
  8. Dry the engine bay with microfiber towels or compressed air.
  9. Remove any protective coverings before starting the vehicle.

Important

Avoid high-pressure spraying directly into electrical components, sensors, fuse boxes, or exposed wiring.

Rubber or All-Weather Floor Mats

  1. Remove the floor mats from the vehicle.
  2. Shake or rinse away loose dirt, sand, and debris.
  3. Spray Multiple Purpose Cleaner directly onto the mat surface.
  4. Allow the cleaner to dwell for 30–60 seconds.
  5. Scrub using a medium-bristle brush, paying extra attention to textured grooves and heavily soiled areas.
  6. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  7. Allow mats to air dry completely before reinstalling.

Pro Tip

For heavily stained mats, repeat the process and use warm water to help loosen embedded grime.

Carpet Floor Mats

  1. Remove the mats from the vehicle.
  2. Vacuum thoroughly to remove loose dirt and debris.
  3. Lightly spray Multiple Purpose Cleaner onto stained or dirty areas.
  4. Allow the cleaner to dwell for 1 minute.
  5. Agitate gently with a soft carpet brush.
  6. Blot or wipe with a clean microfiber towel.
  7. For deeper cleaning, rinse lightly with water or use a carpet extractor.
  8. Allow mats to fully dry before placing them back in the vehicle.

Important

Avoid oversaturating carpet mats, as excessive moisture can lead to mildew or odors.

Interior Plastics and Vinyl Cleaning

  1. Spray Multiple Purpose Cleaner directly onto a microfiber towel or interior detailing brush.
  2. Wipe interior plastics, dashboards, center consoles, door panels, cup holders, and vinyl surfaces.
  3. For textured surfaces or tight areas, agitate gently using a soft detailing brush.
  4. Wipe away loosened dirt and residue with a clean microfiber towel.
  5. Repeat as necessary for heavily soiled areas.

Pro Tip

Spraying directly onto the towel instead of the surface helps reduce overspray on screens, buttons, and sensitive electronics.

Important

Do not use excessive product on infotainment screens, gauge clusters, or touch-sensitive controls.

Cloth Seats

  1. Vacuum the seats thoroughly before cleaning.
  2. Lightly spray Multiple Purpose Cleaner onto the fabric surface or onto a microfiber towel.
  3. Allow the cleaner to dwell for 30–60 seconds.
  4. Gently agitate using a soft upholstery brush.
  5. Blot the area with a clean microfiber towel to lift dirt and moisture.
  6. Repeat as necessary for stains or high-traffic areas.
  7. Allow seats to fully air dry.

Vinyl Seats

  1. Spray Multiple Purpose Cleaner onto a microfiber towel or soft brush.
  2. Wipe the vinyl surface thoroughly.
  3. Agitate textured or dirty areas gently with a soft detailing brush.
  4. Wipe dry with a clean microfiber towel.

Leather Seats (If Applicable)

  1. Test in an inconspicuous area before full application.
  2. Spray Multiple Purpose Cleaner onto a microfiber towel — not directly onto the leather.
  3. Gently wipe the leather surface.
  4. Use a soft brush for perforations, seams, or textured leather.
  5. Wipe dry immediately with a clean microfiber towel.
  6. Follow with a leather conditioner if desired.

Important

Do not oversaturate leather surfaces or allow cleaner to dry on the material.

Interior Cleaning Best Practices

  • Always vacuum before using liquid cleaners.
  • Use separate microfiber towels for interior and exterior cleaning.
  • Work one section at a time for the best results.
  • Avoid harsh scrubbing on delicate materials.
  • Keep doors or windows open during interior cleaning to improve airflow and drying time.

Final Best Practices

Always work on cool surfaces, clean small sections at a time, and never let the product dry before rinsing or wiping. For heavier grime, repeat the cleaning process rather than using aggressive scrubbing.

Common Questions About Lumin8 Liquids Detail Spray

Discover answers to the most common inquiries about our quick exterior detailer.

What can a Lumin8 Liquids multiple purpose cleaner be used on?

Our multiple purpose cleaner is one of the most versatile products in automotive detailing because it can safely clean a wide range of interior and exterior surfaces.

Common uses include cleaning wheels, tires, wheel wells, engine bays, floor mats, door jambs, plastics, vinyl, cloth seats, carpets, and trim pieces. It can also help remove bug residue, road film, grease, light stains, and winter road salt buildup.

Many vehicle owners also use multiple purpose cleaners on motorcycles, boats, RVs, trailers, off-road vehicles, and commercial equipment because of their ability to tackle multiple cleaning tasks with a single product.

For best results, always use the appropriate towel, brush, or applicator for the surface being cleaned and follow the manufacturer’s directions for use.

Is Lumin8 Liquids multiple purpose cleaner safe on paint?

Yes — our high-quality automotive multiple purpose cleaner is generally safe on painted surfaces when used correctly. These cleaners are commonly used to remove bug splatter, road grime, salt residue, and traffic film from painted panels before a proper hand wash.

However, because multiple purpose cleaners are designed to break down contamination, it is important not to let the product dry on the paint surface. Always work on a cool surface out of direct sunlight, rinse thoroughly after cleaning, and avoid excessive dwell times.

For delicate finishes such as matte paint, vinyl wraps, ceramic coatings, paint protection film (PPF), or freshly repainted surfaces, testing in a small inconspicuous area first is always recommended.

Using microfiber towels, soft wash mitts, and gentle agitation techniques will help reduce the risk of marring or scratching the finish.

Can I use this multiple purpose cleaner on interior surfaces?

Absolutely. Multiple purpose cleaners are commonly used to clean interior plastics, vinyl, rubber, carpets, floor mats, door panels, center consoles, dashboards, and cloth upholstery. They are especially useful for removing dirt, body oils, spills, light stains, and everyday grime that builds up inside a vehicle over time.

For interior cleaning, it is generally best to spray the cleaner directly onto a microfiber towel or soft detailing brush rather than heavily onto the surface. This helps prevent overspray on electronics, touch screens, buttons, and gauge clusters.

However, our MPC should NOT be used on surfaces such as leather, piano black trim, infotainment screens, or navigation displays.

For these materials, we recommend Lumin8 Liquids Interior Cleaner & Protectant and our Glass Cleaner for display screens. Following up with a dedicated interior protectant or conditioner can help maintain the appearance and longevity of interior materials after cleaning.

Does this multiple purpose cleaner remove grease and road grime?

Yes. One of the primary benefits of a multiple purpose cleaner is its ability to break down grease, oils, road film, brake dust, bug residue, mud, salt, and other stubborn contaminants that regular car wash soap may struggle to remove.

This makes it an excellent choice for heavily soiled areas such as engine bays, tires, wheel wells, lower rocker panels, and door jambs. The cleaner works by loosening contamination from the surface so it can be safely rinsed or wiped away.

For heavier buildup, allowing the cleaner to dwell briefly and agitating the surface with a detailing brush or microfiber towel will significantly improve cleaning performance.

Although multiple purpose cleaners are powerful, they should still be used responsibly. Avoid prolonged dwell times, excessive scrubbing, or use on hot surfaces to prevent potential staining or surface damage.
